Getting a certified marriage record copy
I have a certified marriage record for my in-laws dtd 21 Mar 1973 when I started researching my husband's family but would like to be able to have the "original". I have tried different avenues through familysearch and ancestry and can't find an FHL# or another to get a copy of the original. Does someone know another way to get it? The information is as follows: Massachusetts marrriage index 1901-1955 (1941-1945) Holbrook 1942 vol. 60 p. 326 Philbrook Joseph Connell and Rose Agnes Moran date of marriage 18 April 1942 Holbrook, Mass. Also the Holbrook town clerk M Shirley Austin has the following information in their book: year 1942 Vol. 2 page 12 no. 13. Either way I can't seem to find it. Thank you for all you can do.

Otherwise or additionally you could contact the Town Clerk and ask how to get an original copy. Note that there may be laws restricting access to the original records. If at least one of your in-laws are still alive, you may need their permission to get a copy. If they are both deceased, you may need to prove this. It's reasonably common for countries and states to impose a 75 year (or similiar) limit on access to marriage records for privacy reasons.

I searched for both Holbrook and Norfolk County in the FS Catalog. There were no vital records for either after 1923. The FHL doesn't have every record.

I have been able to get other "original" copies from FHL #s that were usually copies of microfilm. I just need to know how to access the FHLs for this particular record. Thank you.

Ancestry has a database of the Index records https://www.ancestry.com/search/collections/2966/
This says "Records from 1921 to the present can be found at the Massachusetts Department of Health and Human Services, Registry of Vital Records "
