I need help with a Swedish birth record for Maja Pehrsdotter K83Y-92W. In the space for parents I see her father's name but no mother. Above the father's name it says something that might help if some could translate for me. The source information is:

Well, the mother's not on the record. Although I think you realized that already 😉

I don't know if you realized, but it sure looks to me like Maria was a twin - it looks like she had a brother named Jons or Jon. It also looks like they were born on November 1 or 3 and christened on the 7th - but that's just a minor thing.

My strategy for looking for this would be to look for the birth record of a sibling and see what you can infer from that.

    I found one for a "Maria" christened on November 1, 1745: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9Q97-YMN4-KJ9?i=124&cc=1978775

It lists the father as Pehr Jonsson and the residences listed on the two records look more or less the same. The mother on the 1745 Maria's birth record is listed as Britta (something)sdotter (I can't figure out what that last name is). Here's an image:

For comparison, here's the 1747 Maria's birth record:

It seems pretty clear that this is the same Per Jonsson. It appears that the 1745 Maria died in early 1747:

    Here's a link to that record: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9Q97-YMN4-KJQ?i=156&cc=1978775

While the date of death is not given, it is listed between a death in January and March. Again, there is the same name and place of residence. I'm pretty sure that the "1" on the right hand side is referring to age, which would make it even more likely that this is the 1745 Maria.

Ruling out divorce as an extremely unlikely scenario and having checked the parish death records between 1745 and 1747 and not seeing anything that might qualify as Britta's death record, I can reasonably infer that Maria's (born in 1747) mother was Britta.

    Hope that helps!
