missing family
trying to find the pugh family of birminham, i heve them in 1851 and 1881 nothing before or after, have tried for many years without sucess,
i have ann maria pugh who married edward lea at st martins father down as john pugh blacksmith.
the next i have them is the 1851 census where ann maria is down with her husband and her sister sarah pugh.
maria was down sometimes as just maria and the ann maria. she was born approx 1833 sarah approx 1831. both state they were born in birmingham.
any ideas would be very gratefully recieved as i just dont know how to find them or anything about them.

You say that Ann Maria was born in about 1833. I think I have found the record for the marriage to Edward in 1846 which states that she was "of full age", meaning at least 21 which puts her birth at 1825 or earlier unless, of course, she was lying about her age when she got married. But 13 does seem a little young! Have I got the right marriage?
There is a christening of a Mary Ann Pugh to John and Charlotte in 1835 in the same church as the marriage iwth a birth date in 1832. There is also a christening of a Sarah to the same parents on the same day with a birth year of 1834. But I think I have found Mary Ann unmarried in 1851 (not surprising iif born in 1832).
Can you provide a link to the 1851 census record you have found?

I find it much easier to read these records "the old way" by clicking on "Attach to Tree" and (from the page produced) to click on "Record". (Works sometimes, but if it doesn't you'll think I'm talking gibberish!)

This is the closest I got to finding a match in FamilySearch, but - as you can see - the name here is for "Mary Ann" rather than Maria, who was baptised on the same day as her younger sister, Sarah. Ages match, so could relate to your family.
(I just noticed the ages you show for the sisters do not match either census or baptism records, but at least the census records seems to be a definite match. However, this is the only baptism of a Sarah Pugh I can find on FamilySearch that took place in the whole of Warwickshire in the 1827-37 period.)

Yes, I just found the 1846 Birmingham marriage between Edward Lee and Ann Maria Pugh. There is another Mary Ann Pugh baptism at Birmingham (to John & Hannah - birth 4 July 1831, baptised 1833), but no sister Sarah to match, with these parents. Also, as Graham suggests, an 1846 marriage would mean either of these individuals would be "under age" at the time: Mary Ann "1" aged 14 and Mary Ann "2" aged 15.

Tried FreeREG website and could only find this:
Ann Maria PUGH Baptism 9 Oct 1825 Worcestershire Badsey : St James
Parents John (labourer) and Sarah - of Aldington
But both Aldington & Badsey are over 30 miles from Birmingham.

See FreeCEN website at https://www.freecen.org.uk/search_records/5905e11ae9379091b19a6bc8/maria-lee-1861-warwickshire-ladywood-1832-?locale=en for 1861 census. Maria Lee shown as born at Birmingham and aged 29 (i.e. 1831/32 birth), which would mean she was only 14 or 15 at marriage.
