Samuel Henderson McClure L6PK-92S has a sealing to parents date, but no parents listed with the date. According to the change log for Samuel, his parents were John McClure and Rhesa Carter in 2016 when the SP ordinance was performed. I believe it was a different John McClure than is currently listed. Could you look up the temple ordinance and confirm that Samuel McClure was sealed to John McClure and Rhesa Carter so that I don't have to do the ordinance again? Could you also move the SP ordinance to the current parents if they have the same names as the parents Samuel was previously sealed to?

Samuel's birthdate is 20 Feb 1841

This is the third thread I have started with the same question in a month. Can you please solve my problem this time?

@Stephanie Spencer Booth We appreciate your feeling like you have not received an answer to your question on what happened to the parents to whom Samuel Henderson McClure L6PK-92S was sealed. The answer you received from GasModel was the correct answer. In other words, Samuel was indeed correctly sealed to his parents with the PID that was attached to their record *at that time*. It appears that after he was sealed, someone found there was more than one record for his parents, in Family Search. And since each record in Family Search is assigned a unique (is used only once) PID number, if there is a merge that is not correctly performed, then the Parents ID number, to which the child was linked, is now broken. This unlinking does not happen in a correct merge, but in this case the record with PID number for the one or both of the parents was deleted in a merge. As GasModel explained, once the record with the correct PID is restored, and Samuel relinked to the father ( in this case) then the SP should return.

We have sent you a message - look in the upper right corner, if On a computer, for a tiny envelope on the same line as the bell. There will be a little red dot by it , indicating you have a message

    NidaFL,

When Samuel Henderson McClure was sealed to John McClure, both of the John McClures were merged together. Just because the ID on the card was not the ID for the John McClure that is the father now DOES NOT mean the ordinance was performed incorrectly. He was sealed to John McClure and Rhesa Carter who are his parents. It does not matter what the ID was because we are not sealing IDs to each other, we are sealing PEOPLE to each other.

I know how to correctly merge and unmerge. I am the one who spent a week sorting out all of the John McClures who had been merged together along with all of the various children belonging to each one of them and putting them in the correct families. I sent in several cases last summer trying to get this all sorted out. Apparently, they missed this one child out of the dozens I sent in. If I were to merge it back the way it was, then there would be one John McClure with five wives in various countries and dozens of children.

FamilySeach Data Administration has a tool to move the SP ordinance to the correct IDs, I just can't get anyone to send this case to them without closing it first, hence my frustration.
