    @don martin thomas

    Don

    It's 'Brett'

    Short Answer: It DOES.

    But ...

    That Said ...

    You are 'seeing' YOURSELF, through YOUR 'FamilySearch' Account.

    Therefore, you 'see' that "Edit Contact Settings", rather than your "E-mail" Address (provided that you have made such "Public") and, other details that you may have made "Public", if any.

    IF, you 'look' at the SAME, through the 'FamilySearch' Account, of Another User/Patron; THEN, you will 'see' your "E-mail" Address (provided that you have made such "Public") and, other details that you may have made "Public", if any.

    I know; as, I am often working with my Wife, 'looking' through her 'FamilySearch' Account.

    And, the same when I am "Helping" Others.

    The reason you 'see' it as you do, is so that, you can "Edit" the "Settings" in your 'FamilySearch' Account, from there, if you so desire.

    I hope this helps.

    Brett

    tl;dr: for Brett's answer: you can't message yourself.
