Where would be the best place to look?

These were some of the last church records for Jan Legner and Katerina Knot that I could find.

They were located in the Melnicke Vtelno records but I can't go any further back to find a marriage record for Jan and Katerina because they stop at 1784. Where would be the best place to look next?

You are welcome. I thought it was right but it was too late at night to check the actual records. I always look at the 19th century maps on Mapy.cz and look in the surrounding country for anything spelled at all similar. This time it worked. I don't speak Czech and don't know all the grammar changes. This blog article has helped me: http://czechgenealogy.nase-koreny.cz/2015/05/czech-language-in-past.html#more. Sometimes in genteam.at you can find them also but I have found if the town has two words you might have to reverse the order of the words.

You could write the archives but that is all.

Look at this 19th century map. https://en.mapy.cz/19stoleti?x=14.6992222&y=50.3590333&z=14&q=Melnicke%20Vtelno&source=muni&id=3888. I think Wsheliz is Wselis. Close to where you are working in. I think it is this now: https://en.mapy.cz/zakladni?x=14.7366464&y=50.3840500&z=13&q=Velke%20Vselisy&source=muni&id=4057

I can't guarantee this is the place but it seems like it could be.

Betseylee you are amazing. The first page of the church record for Boleslav Mlada pulled them up but I don't think it goes back any farther. Hopefully I can find more info just knowing where they lived.. Thanks again.

If you cannot go further back in the Lutheran records, I would check the Catholic records to see if they were recorded there.
