Name removed from church records

I have an Aunt who was baptized as a youth. As an adult she asked for her name to be removed from church records. Someone told me that because she had requested her name be removed, that you can not do her Temple work now that she has passed. Is this true?

    Hello LesaPollard

Thank you for your question regarding Ordinances for a relative who had withdrawal of Membership.

When should I obtain permission before performing ordinances for the deceased?

Permission may be required before performing temple ordinances for the deceased. If permission is needed from the First Presidency, a message will be sent with instructions

For more information on these topics, please consult the Church’s General Handbook: Serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Section 28 and Section 38.4. You could also talk with your bishop or a ward temple and family history consultant.

I hope that we understood and provided information that answers your question. Thank you for using Community and we hope this link or the Help Centre provides the answers you seek.
