    @MarkBickerstaff

    Hi Brad

    I assume you are talking about the individual who has a family Tree ID reference LWYH-8J1.

    I wonder if you have communicated with Todd H Johnson, who seems to have made many of the inputs here. Otherwise, it appears you are relying on the speculation of the person who carried out work on this individual in 2012, or previously. I see no evidence (notes or sources) for any "Irish connection". Neither is the attachment of a marriage record of help - as this does not have an image that might include details of Alexander's parents (father, at least).

    Unfortunately, the earlier US census records give no hints of the origins of the parents of the person concerned, so I am seeing the same brick wall as yourself.

    The only "clue" I can see might lie with James Bickerstaff KD3G-23D, age 59, born in Ireland and found in the 1850 census at Moon Township, Beaver, Penn. - along with (his son?) William Bickerstaff, age 36, born Pennsylvania. I have not looked any deeper, but there is a 10 year gap between the births of Alexander and William, so - if siblings - there are likely others to be found.

    Update - there is also a George Bickerstaff, 33, at Moon Township, Beaver in the 1860 census.

    Thank you, I did send Todd H Johnson a message. Still have not heard back from him.

    Alexander Bickerstaff 1824 - 1875 married Elizabeth Nutter 1831-1916. They had 7 children

    I have found. Sophronia, Lafayette, Mary Jane, Isabella, Charles A, Siatha and Clark Emaline.

    Those Bickerstaff's you mention are probably related as they came from Eastern Europe

    to Pennsylvania and West Virgina.

    Thanks again and maybe this will help with the added information. mbradb7@gmail.com

    Is Todd Johnson, still around? I have not heard anything from him. Nor anyone else on the parents or Alexander Bickerstaff (1824-1875) married to Elizabeth Nutter and have 7 Children from Ritchie County WV. USA.

    Thanks to anyone who can supply this information or supporting information.

    MarK Bradley (Brad) Bickerstaff, Collinsville, OK USA from Fairmont, WV.

    Alexander's father was also called Alexander Bickerstaff, according to MyHeritage; he was born 1790 in Drumcashalone, Newry, Down, Ireland, and married ? there in 1810.
