Trying to find info on great grandparents

The Search feature allows you to search for historical records independently from the Family Tree. Here is an article link that may help you search the records:

You can also search for records right from the Person/Details page. On the right side under "Search Records" you can click on FamilySearch to search for records for them. The left side column can be changed without changing the information on the person page, but will change the way the search filter looks for records.

You have indicated that you'd like to find birth/death dates for Charles Jones and, his wife, Fannie Wilson. You also suggested that you are somewhat new to FamilySearch.

One of the easiest ways to begin you search in is to search the historical records, having signed into FamilySearch, by clicking "Search" and then, in the drop down menu that appears, selecting "Records". While you are here, click the circled "?" icon to see Suggested Topics that will help you in your search; for example, you may want to click and review the topic, "What are the best practices and tips for search historical records."

When you are ready, under "Search Historical Records," enter information about your g-great grandparents, and click "Search."

I did this with your Charles Jones and, as spouse, Fannie Wilson. You can see the Search Results by clicking here. Notice that the first item is a death record for your Charles Jones from the Collection, "Kentucky Death Records, 1911-1965."

Notice that when you click on the name, you will see the the extracted details about your g-grandfather's death and by clicking "View the Original Document," you can see a copy of the Kentucky Death Certificate for Charles.

The Death Certificate provides a wealth of information: besides his full name, you find the death date and place, the date and place of his of his birth. Notice the cause of death. You also see the name of Charles' parents. With this one document, you are well on your way to learning the story of your g-grandfather's life.

You will also see, in the Search Results, several other records that pertain to your g-grandparents: records for their marriage, and records of their children wherein they are mentioned.

You will also find other individuals, in the Search Results, that have the same, or similar names, but are not your g-grandparents. It is always very important to carefully review the results.
