(in Q and A - Search) and given fresh responses, which are then being labelled as "Accepted Answer"?

Sometimes the recent response is helpful, but in other instances, adds nothing new to an already-answered question. I wonder what are, and who decides, the criteria before an answer is labelled in this way?

@Paul W This would be an appropriate question for the "Ask a Question" site in the above right of this page.

Paul, This is happening as old messages are still being transferred to the new platform from the old platform. I've run across this several times recently.

Thank you for your response, Carol. I do understand the process whereby topics from the old forum are gradually being transferred here. My question (in full) relates to the way the issues are being readdressed (after transfer) and who is marking them as an "Accepted Answer" - and on what basis.

Logically, it should be the original poster who decides whether their query has been answered satisfactorily.

@Coleman Patty - Yes, that's exactly what I did (i.e. click on "Ask a Question" at the top of the page) and my question ended up here!

Sorry, but you have not provided an "Accepted Answer" to the point I raised.
