Trying to find my niece Jennifer, born about 1938/39 in Dorset, England, UK

My sister, Madeleine Rose WAY, died 10 years ago and we found an obviously treasured photo of a little girl aged about 18 mths who looked just like my sister and the name Jennifer was written underneath. I remember my brother telling me that when aged 16/17 my sister was ill and had to go into a Nursing Home in Swanage, Dorset, but the illness was not known. This stay could have been anytime from 1936 to 1940 and Swanage being quoted as a possible red herring. I did ask my sister about it but she lied as the answer made no sense. The photo was produced by a photographer in Poole, Dorset and we believe that Jennifer was adopted by a Poole family from birth. I so much want to tell Jennifer or her children what a wonderful person my sister was.

Have you tried the Adoption registry in the UK ?

    https://www.gov.uk/adoption-records/the-adoption-contact-register

Maybe it was a legal adoption

DNA may help if the adopted person has taken a test
