If you ask me - - the vast majority of what people may be asking for in reports should come naturally out of the interface in the the first place - meeting the needs of the group leaders (without some disjoint report).
Any significant reporting if needed - to me - is a manifestaion of flaws and drawbacks to the User Interface.
By analzyaing the requests for reports - as we move more into activity in the new cmmunity - is a great resource for realizing what are some of the GAPS in the UI.
Now if we are talking about some complex set of stats thats one thing.
BUT if what most people are asking for is a "list of users" - than it would seem to me we just need to fix the UI - to accomplish that - rather than have yet another process that has to be maintained.
Sheilas request makes perfect sense - a way of noting who is a new user. But why cant that just be an indicator of the organic interface itself - and not just some disjoint report that now also has to be maintained.
