I know my Grandfather's name is Michael Kelly, born 1885 he lived in Dublin, Ireland. He married Margaret Dayl. I was told he was in the Navy or Merchant Navy, I believe he worked on the docks.

@shirl19621.5353646406806096E12 The best thing for you to do is search FamilySearch's, Ancestry's, and FindMyPast's military records for the UK (not just Ireland). If your searches come empty, book a genealogical consultation with FamilySearch here. https://go.oncehub.com/ResearchStrategySession

    I hope this helps!

Hello Shirl O'Conner this is the Ireland site and they may be able to help you find the information you are seeking. Ireland Genealogy Research. Starting tomorrow the FamilySearch Community platform will be changing and so go on and make sure all of the communities you joined still have you in them. We are not sure how that will transfer over. I hope you have success in finding your grandfather and that someone in the Ireland Genealogy group will be able to assist you.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Shannon
