Anyone know why we can no longer see the images for British Columbia Vital Records on FamilySearch? I know I can view them at the Royal BC Museum & Archives site but someone was asking why the images are no longer visible on FamilySearch.

I don't know for sure, but it is quite possible that the fact you can see them at the Royal BC Museum & Archives may be the reason you cannot see them on FamilySearch.

FamilySearch has to negotiate contracts with all the record owners and those contracts sometimes limit the time that FamilySearch is able to show the images.

That was my thought too. People are just missing it not being on FamilySearch because often if a record couldn’t be found on BC Archives they could be found on FamilySearch and vice versa. Will have to keep watching if they reappear.

Contact "help" either by telephone, e-mail, etc and ask. It may be that these images were viewable at a Family History Center or affiliate and this can't be done now because of the pandemic.

Thank you. Next time I need to phone in was planning to ask. Doesn’t work at a FHC either. Really not overly concerned because I can access the records somewhere else, it was just asked so I thought I’d investigate.
