Looking for birth location and parents of Per Jonsson Modin born 1767

All referneces are Sweden, Gävleborg, Alfta Parish

A researcher says that he was born Oct 3 1767, Grannäs, Alfta Parish: HH 1762-1786 B Page 972.

However, known ancestor is:

HH 1794-1786 B page 972 appears to say born ?"Sunnanäker"?

HH 1803-1810 A page 260 appears to say born Ljusdal which is another parish in Gävleborg

HH 1811-1817 B page 36 appears to say born Ljusdal same as above

The above researcher is correct that a Per Jonsson was born on Oct 3 1767 in Grannäs, Alfta Parish son of Jonas Jonsson and Anna Andersdotter, but that doesn't;t seem to agree with the Sunnanäker and Ljusdal references above. I haven't yet found births in Ljusdal parish for 1767 that match.

Agreed, if this is the right Per Jonsson. How do I know that it is the same as the Per Jonsson's in the mentioned Household Examinations. Plus Alfta HH 1787-1793 A lists a third place of birth that is not Grannäs. And all of the HH's refered to state that the wife is Christina Jonsdotter born 1771 which is the right family for our descendents.

If he is born in the same parish on the same day and there is only one Per born at that time then it has to be the same person.

Are those household records for Alfta? The time periods don’t match

I can’t find a page 972 in 1794-1801. The best thing to do is follow him after he leaves his parents.

    Dale,

I followed Per from when he left his family.

1862-1888 he is on Page 972 then he moves to page 581 in the same book. Then in book 1887-1894 he is on page 275 and he moves to 268 then page 199. Here he is crossed off and it doesn't say where he is going. There is a Brita Larsdotter next to him but I can't tell if he is her wife. I have looked for a marriage record for him at that time. There is a Per Jonsson who marries a Brita Olsdotter on Nov. 11, 1787 and the village is Wiken where he is living at the time. I looked in the moving out records for him starting at 1790 with no luck there. We still haven't proved if this is the same person. The first child Jonas born in 1792 was born in Gundbo village which kind of overlaps him when he is in the village of Wiken in 1787-1794. If there is a Per Jonson Modin born in Ljusdal in 1767 then I would say they are not the same person

The Marriage record of Pehr Johnsson and Christina Jonsdotter at 29 April 1792 in Alfta says that soldier's son Pehr Jonsson from Erdsby, Ovanåker married with farmer's/house owner's daughter Christina Jonsdotter from Gunbo.

I am sure that this is Pehr Jonsson's (Modig) birth record in Ljusdal, at 28 Nov 1767 :

    Ljusdals kyrkoarkiv, Födelse- och dopböcker, SE/HLA/1010113/C I/2 (1732-1810), bildid: C0031668_00142 https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0031668_00142

His father is Jonas Frimodig and here he is with his family: it matches to that which is mentioned in Ovanåker's HH. Mother Carin is said to be born at 1730 (1729) in Ovanåker.

    Ljusdals kyrkoarkiv, Husförhörslängder, SE/HLA/1010113/A I/1 b (1767-1781), bildid: C0031619_00142, sida 130

Modin/Modig is a short version from Frimodig.

Thank you all for your help. I will attempt to contact the earlier researcher that had him born Oct 3 in Grannäs so that he can update his information.

Can you help me the name of the farm/community at the top of page 130, where does it day Jonas Frimodig was born and the note to the right of Jonas Frimodig. He did or went somewhere in 1774 but I cannot read it.
