I have a book that lists many generations for a person in my line. Before I enter the details for each individual, I'd like to know if this information has already been entered.
The name of the book is "Brigham Young His Ancestry His Family Group", by the Brigham Young Family Association. I tried "search records online", but was unsuccessful. I don't want to duplicate work if it's already been done. Any suggestions on how I can check to see whether this information has been entered already or not? I would be very surprised that ALL of President "Brigham YOUNG's", Ancestry; and, even, Descendancy (both, the "Dead"; and, the "Living"), are not ALREADY in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' ...
.
My Wife; and, I, are not even from the "United States of America" (we are from "Down Under"); but, we are BOTH linked/connected through our separate "Ancestral" lines to President "Brigham YOUNG".

We did not know such, until we used (BYU) "RelativeFinder".

And, 'Yes', your are 'spot on', no need to "Duplicate", there are enough "Duplicates" in the "System" already ...
