Korean death records

Does anyone have tips on locating death records in S. Korea? We have a name, an approximate year of birth, and a year of death. We're working on getting more information but I have no idea where to even start. Thank you.

I suggest looking at the following site which may help.

https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/South_Korea_Probate_Records. There are several other sites if you do a Wiki search which also may be helpful. Thank you for using FamilySearch and please let us know if this was helpful.

I am sorry the link didn't work. While in FamilySearch do a Wiki search. You get there by clicking on Search next to Family Tree. The last item when you bring up the search menu is Wiki. Go into that site and do a search for South Korea. Then pick the area you want to look at. The link also didn't work for me, but yet I was in the site and copied the URL. Who knows....

    Hope this works for you,

    Carol

If you have familysearch.org, you can enter "Korea" or "North Korea" at "locality" space and try this link https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/results?count=20&placeId=176&query=+place:Korea; and also try to enter the Korean native language to search as well.

Change the language from English to Korean at the button of the home page, click "English", then chose the Korea language.

    Good luck!
