Is "hemort" in Swedish current residence or birth place? or either?
I have a Swedish marriage record with a field labeled "hemort." In the record, there are often two different places listed (not administrative levels, truly different places for the same person). It looks to me like the first is birthplace (or maybe former residence?) and the second is current residence, for example: "Jon Jonsson från Umeå, nu i Kusmark." Do I list Umeå or Kusmark as the hemort? Or both?

Hemort means "home, ones own country".
If you could give us a link to the marriage record and the name of the individual you are asking about, we could perhaps answer better. Your example translates "Jon Jonsson from Umeå, now in Kusmark". "From Umeå" probably means that he moved in from Umeå, but he may have also been born there. You would have to try to find him in Umeå and in Kusmark, to be sure.
