The attached card is from the Table Des Mariages of Junglinster regarding the marriage of Joannes Stein to Margaretha Anna, the daughter of Mateus Deutsch alias Schreiners. Could someone please tell me what the term "ellateus" means? Thank you!

    I plugged ellateus into google translate. Nothing.

    Then I separated it, ella teus and Catalan came up with "she's yours". How funny!

     

    Nevertheless, it's Mateus. Was her dad's name some form of Mathew?

    Ah, that is funny! I've only seen this record and the digital copy of the original and both said Mateus, so I suppose yes, it is Mateus or Mathias (though usually they just write Mathias, they don't change it to a Latin form). Obviously I can't read perfectly clear handwriting! Thank you for picking up on that, Fritz! I appreciate all the help you've provided.
