Who do these pictures belong to?
I have been offered a photo album by a friend in another country (Australia), which contains pictures of early members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My friend found the album in an antique bookstore in Hobart and, although she is of another faith, felt that it should be returned either to the Church or to the family to whom it belongs. The main question I have is if all the photos are of one family, or if they are pictures of early converts, leaders, and missionaries. The pictures appear to be from the mid 1800s to around maybe 1930, based on two of the names she has provided. One name is a note written to another person by A. Theo Johnson of Vernal Utah (1900s). The other name is Elizabeth Cherry Hodden (records indicate possibly residing in Ephraim, UT in the late 1800s). The name on the front cover is Fox & Symons, and another name on maybe the back of a picture is C.R. Savage Art Bazar. One more name at the bottom of a picture shows "Edlund Stockholm. I don't know if the Edlund is a location name, or the last name of a person.
My friend has indicated that the album is fragile given it's age, but she is willing to mail it to me. My concern is that I don't want to harm the already fragile pictures, so I want to make sure I get these to the correct person(s). Alternatively, I am checking to see if any of the pictures have any historical significance for the early LDS Church records. I have 12 to 13 pictures, but I can only upload 10.
Please see the attached pictures and let me know if anyone recognizes any of these or the names.
