Occasionally you may find that place information is missing from the indexes to Wales parish registers on Findmypast. There is a simple three step process to figure out which parish the record is in. A five slide Power Point presentation at https://www.slideshare.net/Darris/welsh-parish-registers-on-findmypast-indexed-records-with-no-place-information will guide you through the solution.

Thanks Darris for posting this information. I have notice some of the parish records do not have images available. Would I need to contact the respective archives in Wales to get a copy of the actual parish entry? Thanks

This is an excellent cross reference, particularly because of the jurisdictional changes in Wales over the years. Thanks!

Once we have determined the parish is there any way that we can have the catalog updated with the new information?

@Dave DaveHammaker I did a little investigation this morning about the Wales parish register indexes on Findmypast that do not have images attached. In about 90% of the cases there is a nearly duplicate entry either above or below that does have an attached image. After looking at a few I am guessing that the index was redone for a few specific parishes due to quality issues. The first index effort seems to be missing the attached image. The second and more complete index seems to have an image attached. There still seem to be a few index entries that have now second index and no attached image. In one case the parish name was included so I was able to look that parish up in the Family History Library Catalog by the parish name then selected the parish register to browse based on the date of the christening in the index. Let me know if two or three attached images may help clarify this a little more.
