    Dennis

    .

Simply "Copy" the "Image" and then "Paste" that in your "Post" here ... it works.

    .

Reference (take a look at one of my posts):

    .

Minor FAULT/FLAW. "Banner" about "Some features on FamilySearch may be unavailable as we make improvements to the site".

    .

    I hope this helps.

    ok

but again - why is there not consistency - as to how a very similar screen works in FS Community,

Dennis, I really hope that they do NOT make it like the rest of the FS Community. That mechanism is not very appropriate at all for this type of a forum. There has been some discussion on it in the Communities before.

In fact, I really hope that they eventually CHANGE the way it works over there.

HOWEVER, it would be really nice to be able to just identify a file (such as a .jpg) to insert into the message box instead of being forced to open it, and taking a snapshot onto your clipboard in order to paste it into the box. And of course, the normal drag and drop that people always use does not function either.

But the ability to actually embed the image in the message is correct. In the communities, the image is stored someplace else and only a link is embedded in the message meaning if that image is ever deleted from the library of images, it will disappear from any messages that it was originally in.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but the way it is set up in communities allows for chunks of "thousands of words" to be lost from message threads which can make their historical value pretty useless at times.
