Glaring errors

A van Helsdingen said: If these errors are in the FamilySearch Family Tree (FSFT), then you can correct these errors. Just make sure to include sources for all facts. You can also "watch" people, which means you get a weekly email about other people's edits to those profiles. This is the easiest way to prevent any future errors.
If the errors are in historical records (e.g. censuses, vital records, newspapers), then you can in some cases make a correction to the Index or transcription. But if the original historical record is wrong, that must not be changed. It is the job of the genealogist to deal with contradictory or unreliable evidence.0 -
