I am on a total block in backtracking my Ferrell ancestry. I believe that a man called Issac Ferrell (aka Ferrell), DOB unknown, is in my direct family line, but I have been unable to find any information as to his origin except the following:

Is mentioned in a 1778 land transaction in N.C. between two other men for 144 acres, stating that the land adjoins Issac Ferrell's land on Paddy's Creek, N.C.

Is on the 1790, 1810 and 1820 Burke County, N. C. census.

Is listed as a surety on a Burke County, N.C. "bastardy bond", 10/01/1816, against Tisdale Spencer ensuring that he pays child support for the "base born" child of Susannah Ferrell.

Any help or clues will be appreciated.

Thanks. J. Ferrell
