Middle initials

When i enter a given name with a middle initial, autofill will fill in a previous used name starting with the same letter. For example if the name of the person is John T Smith and there is a previous used name like Harry Thomas Jones, autofill will automatically fill it to read John Thomas. How do I stop this?

I turned off the auto complete because it is faster to type the correct information. If you want to turn it off too and see how you like it, click on Batch, click on Settings, click on Auto Complete and Turn it off for all fields.

After you type the initial hit tab instead of return and it will go to the next field leaving the initial in place.

You can also adjust auto fill to not fill in those fields.

Thank you for asking the question! Follow these steps found in Help.

In the settings for a batch, you can specify what fields the autocomplete, or autofill, feature applies to.

    Steps

    1. On an open batch, click Batch in the upper left corner.
    2. Click Settings.
    3. Click Auto Complete.
    4. Select the option that you want:
      • Keep project defaults
      • Turn ON for all fields
      • Turn OFF for all fields
    5. Click Apply.

Thank you for your question, Marie. When this happens, you have to delete the incorrect middle initial and type in the correct one. There is really no way to stop the "autofill" from doing this. I know this is annoying and we thank you for your dedication to the indexing program.
