Hello,
I uploaded my gedcom file but not all of the individuals were added. After running the COmpare option, I was told that I could upload 20,000 names to my tree.
Help.
Do I need to add each individual one at a time?

After uploading your GEDCOM, the computer puts them into 4 groups.
Those already in family tree
Potential names that couldn't be possitively identified but had some connection to a name already in Tree
Names with no similarities that can be added to the Tree
Living persons in your GEDCOM
Yes, you will need to go through one by one to add each of the last few names to make sure there are no duplicates already in the tree.
After you upload your GEDCOM file to the Pedigree Resource File, you can transfer the information to Family Tree. We do not typically recommend that you do this, since the information may already be in Family Tree. Transferring the information from a GEDCOM file can end up creating more work for you or someone else to do:
- You may add duplicate records to Family Tree, which will need to be merged.
- You may overwrite or delete accurate information that is already in Family Tree with less accurate or less complete information from your GEDCOM file.
- The sources, notes, and media in your GEDCOM file cannot be transferred to Family Tree.
- The relationships to parents and spouses are not automatically included when you transfer the person to Family Tree. However, the parents and spouses are listed separately, and when they are compared and transferred to Family Tree, the relationships are automatically created.
- Your FamilySearch contact name and information will be shown in Family Tree as the contributor.
Important: Before you transfer information from a GEDCOM file, make sure that it contains information that is not already in Family Tree.

Thanks for your question about loading your GEDCOM file to Family Search. Family Search/Tree is a shared public tree where we only want one record per individual. This is quite different from many other genealogical sites where each user can have a private tree with unique records for each person.
When you load a GEDCOM file there are two separate processes. First of all you load your GEDCOM and it becomes part of the Pedigree Resource File. Your file is preserved and is available for others to search and use the information. However, it is not changeable by other users. You can leave the file in the Pedigree Resource file, change to a newer version, or delete it.
Now, if you also want to add the information to Family Tree, then you use the compare function. Keeping in mind that we only want one record per individual, the compare function will evaluate each record in your file against the records already in Family Tree. The compare function can automatically take care of some of the records but many records will need your intervention to assess the proper action. And this is a one record at a time process. For large GEDCOM files, this can take sometime to complete. Again the goal is not to create duplicate records.
