I have been using Tasks for years and consequently have been doing tasks for persons I am either not related to or am distantly to. It would be very helpful if there was a way to filter by closeness of relationship.

I have thought a lot about this idea, and decided I think it would be counterproductive.

Most of Family Tree is under construction and the tasks that most need doing are on PIDs not yet attached. Limiting tasks to related PIDS, necessarily PIDs already attached to the tree in your vicinity, would tend to promote tunnel vision and ownership.

On the mobile app the Tasks page has an option hidden under the info icon: Expand Ancestors With Tasks. Include tasks for people you have recently viewed, their parents, spouses, and children. Also, swipe left to remove a person from the list. I really like both features! Often I prefer to work tasks from the mobile app, not the web interface. On the web interface, to work tasks (hints) I mostly use the descendancy tree view.
