My grandfather, Michael Owen Mealy, was from Glendree, Tulla, County Clare Ireland. He emigrated to the US, ending up in Washington DC. He was killed in a train accident at the Washington Railroad Yard in 1913. He was married to Catherine Marie Crehan, sometimes Creaghan. I have been unable to find any information or ancestry for Kate Crehan Mealy. She died in Washington 09 Oct 1948. If anyone has any information on her, please let me know. I have her birthdate as 23 Jun 1872. Thanks.

    @Hugh Mealy I went to my affiliate library yesterday and obtained the death and marriage records for most of the Crehan extended family.

    You're welcome.

    I've posted them to each individual's memory section. https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/G8H7-YD3 14 records total.

    FYI - Thomas Crehan, Catherine's father, married twice. Both wives were named Bridget.

    @Hugh Mealy

    Catherine's obituary in the "Evening Star" lists a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Lemmer. Often collateral research can reveal the correct family.

    In 1926, Hanora Crehan died, and her funeral was held from the home of her sister, Mrs Catherine Mealy. Hanora's parents are listed and Thomas and Bridget. Obituary also in the "Evening Star."

    This memorial for Thomas, Bridget, Hanora, Elizabeth, and others should give you some more clues. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/178886306/thomas-creahan

    There are also newspaper insertions for probate for Hanora.

    Bridget and daughters in the 1880 census. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M6C7-YBS

    I'm so confused. I've always updated my Family Tree Maker as I discovered facts, then synced it to the online Ancestry.com when convenient. I'm now trying to put in the basic facts of the people you made me aware of into FTM, but suddenly it won't let me enter their facts, birthday, etc. It's as though somehow the information I can enter is being controlled/prevented by something that I have never encountered before. I've put in the names, but it is not letting me put in birthdates, etc. Do you have any clue as to what may be going on? Has FTM now become somehow controlled by the online Ancestry site?

    You probably need to ask your question on a board or group dedicated to FTM. The Facebook FTM group is excellent. https://www.facebook.com/groups/FamilyTreeMakerUsers

    I use FTM 2019 extensively and I've never had that issue.

    @Hugh Mealy is this your tree?

    https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/82356189/person/392315024230/facts

    It seems you have added Bridget Hines (2nd wife of Thomas Crehan) twice and made both of them the parents of Thomas. That could be part of your problem.
