Passport copies from 1930's
My Great Grandfather John J. Hanley returned to Ireland to spend his last few years. He died in 1935, we found his grave. He left the US from New York in July, 1933. He was accompanied by his son (my grandfather) James I. Hanley and his daughter Mary A. Hanley Murray. I am trying to get a copy of John's passport, with the photo. I have John and Mary's return information on the "Columbus" from Cobh. John's passport number is probably very similar to theirs (James #39500, Mary #39495). I believe they returned on the same ship all three left on. I would love to get copies of all three, if possible, but John is the priority.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello PHan
Welcome to the FamilySearch community, and thank you for your question regarding Passport copies from 1930's.
I recommend you go directly to the source. The National Archives has microfilmed the passport schedules, and most have now been digitized by our digitization partners, and are available online and at all NARA facilities.

Hello ByrdLady,
Thank you for the quick response. My search, unfortunately, is for a passport issued in/around 1933. The referenced searches ended for passports in 1925. The State Department records are not available between 1925-1975 and directs inquiries to NARA. I am still trying to find the specific site/procedure for this record.
