How do I find a Mother for my grandfather
My grandfather, Frederick Newsome was born about 1863. I know his fathers name was James as it says so on Fredericks marriage cert. I can not find his Mother. I have looked for a birth certificate or baptisms with James as the Father, but can not find anything.

He was born in Uk. I think either Yorkshire or Birmingham, but not certain

Hi Cathy, Frederick married Eleanor Whitfield in 1902. Frederick was a warehouseman and James, his father is deceased on the Marriage cert. his occupation is down as a foreman.
I have looked at so many Frederick Newsome and James Newsome, I am going round in circles.
I have found a Martha Newsome on Church of England birth and baptism with a son named Frederick in 1864 in Dewsbury, but I can not verify it.
Any help would be really appreciated

Who did Frederick marry? Does it state on Marriage Cert what Frederick's father did for occuption?

The Cost of a "Digital" PDF Copy for a "Birth" record from the GRO is about £7.
I just thought that these may help, if you were not already aware of them.

By the way ...
That 'On-Line' Search facility, of the 'Civil Registration' for both, "Birth"; and, "Death", of the 'General Registry Office' ( GRO ) of 'England and Wales', is FREE to, "Register"; and, "Search", the "Indexes".
From when the 'Civil Registration' for both, "Birth", commenced in the Third Quarter in 1837, until about 1921, the Mother's "Maiden" Name, is recorded, for a Child's Birth. And, if there is ONLY a "▬" (ie. "Dash"), the Mother's "Maiden" Name, such indicates that the Child's Birth, was "Illegitimate" (ie. 'Born Out of Wedlock').
