How can Church records for living member be updated to record the death date?

I have a distant relative in FamilySearch Family Tree (Dale Rigouts Whitehead KW8C-YJ7) whom I have found death information for. It appears from the information available that he was endowed and sealed in the temple but that information is not showing in FamilySearch. Is it possible that his living record is still kept in Church records and not yet released because his death date has not been recorded? If that is possibly the case, how do I go about getting his death information posted to his living record so the information will transfer to FamilySearch?
