Why does my deceased brother still show as “confidential person”?
My brother, BROOKS TYRE, ID # L1BQ-R82, DOB 2/14/1978, DOD 6/25/2020.
it’s been over a year, and my brother is still showing as a “confidential person“. In this record, it shows his ordinances need to be done, but he did them while he was alive and I can’t change anything as he’s confidential person.
I would like to merge his incorrect records with his correct record, and when I search duplicates, nothing appears as he’s confidential.
There is no reason that I know of for him to be a confidential person.
Thank you,
WINDY HARLEY

Went into FamilySearch.org and was unable to view L1BQ-R82; however, when I put in the birth and death information I found him as Brooks Daniel Tyre, same dates, #LXWV-132. I would think that these are the two records you would like to merge.
Is L1BQ-R82 (this record must be the confidential one) by any chance marked as LIVING, if so, it will need to be changed to deceased with the correct information input. If this is the case, changing him from LIVING to DECEASED should correct this file. It could take up to 24 hours for this to correct. If this is not the case, please call FamilySearch.org at 866-406-1830 and they will be able to send this to the department that can review and assess this confidential issue more accurately.
