Regarding Persons who were born in past 110 years listed as deceased using gravestones as source

My Aunt Helen Hrycun Chahley b1930 L1QS-87C is listed as deceased although she is alive and living in Edmonton Alberta. She is listed as deceased because her name is on the gravestone for her husband George Chahley 1920-2007 MW24-XQ5 but her death date is not engraven there. This is common practice - my mothers name is on my father's gravestone because they will share the same plot. I have tried to change this error twice but Family Search will not accept it.

In consequence my uncle George's name is eligible for temple ordinances although my aunt has not approved nor was my mother asked although she is the surviving sibling. I was surprised to see my uncle cleared for ordinances because he died in 2007. Ordinances for those who died in the last 60 years should require proof of relationship before permitting people to reserve ordinances.

    Hello @Lenore Erekson

We found the record for Helen E Hrycun L1QS-87C, which has been marked deceased. We note that there is a possible duplicate. Please merge the duplicate and then follow the instructions outlined in the knowledge article about changing the deceased status to living:

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-change-the-status-from-deceased-to-living-in-family-tree

Note that once you click Submit a "request now goes to FamilySearch Support. A system administrator reviews your request and takes appropriate actions."

We see that you added memories to your aunt's "deceased" record in 2018. Once the record has been changed to living, you will no longer see that record in Family Tree, as it will go back to the private space of the person who created the record. You will need to reattach those memories to your own private space version of your aunt.
