Need Some Help with a 1557 Baptism Record
At the URL below is what I think is the baptism record of my ancestor Hans Pali or Poli in the Hinwil Parish. It is the second record in 1557 on the right hand side. The father is Uli Pali. However, I am unsure of the date of the record. From the records above and below it, it looks to be between 24 Jan and 4 Feb. Can someone look at it and 1) verify it is the record for Hans Pali, and 2) determine what the baptism date is. Thank you very much.

Hinwil is canton Zürich - where church records cannot be accessed from home by Swiss residents - similar to the situation in canton Bern - with one main difference: no alternative 🙄. If you want me to have a look you have to post a screenshot: not just the one entry, but a larger section, still with sufficient resolution (a compromise needs to be found).

I have uploaded two images of the record 1) closeup of his record, and 2) full page of the image in the parish register. I hope this helps. Thank you

1557 Jar
Item ein kind gethoüfft dem Vly Palÿ ward geboren von siner Elichen
Hüss. ward genempt Hanss. G: Hanss Guttinger. G: Fron Egolff. datüm(??)
am Sontag nach dem nüwen jar.
-----
This one is tricky - with several points to discuss ;-).
Hüss..: the last "character" is not really a character, but just indicating an abbreviation - I assume for "Hüssfrouw" (Hausfrau).
G.: I assume an abbreviation for "Götti" (for a male) or "Gotte" (for a female).
-----
So in modern German this would be:
Ebenso wurde dem Uli Paly ein Kind getauft, geboren von seiner ehelichen Hausfrau (= Ehefrau), das Hanss genannt wurde. G(ötti): Hanss Guttinger (today Güttinger), G(otte): Froni (Verena) Egolff. Datum(??) am Sonntag nach dem neuen Jahr.
-----
Translated (meaning):
Hanss Paly was baptised on Sunday after New Year with Uli (Ulrich) Paly as father and his wife (no name mentioned) as mother. Godfather: Hans Güttinger (citizens of Hinwil since long before 1800). Godmother: Verena Egolf.
The sequence of the entries is not strictly chronological. In 1557 we still have the Julian calandar - and the first Sunday after New Year would be 3 Jan 1557.

This is most helpful! You know your old German. Thank you very much.
