How do I recover family history in my familysearch.org account.

For many years I used FamilySearch.org to trace my family roots. I found lots of family members dating back to the 1500s.

On 10 July 2021 was baptized and I became a new member of the LDS church.

I now have a church record number that I used to sign in to my old familysearch.org account.

The next time I logged into my FamilySearch account all my research roots and family trees are missing!!!

I hope someone can give a novice some expert advice and guidance on how to recover my family roots that go way back to the 1500s in England

Thanks,

Michael

    You have two FamilySearch accounts now with same email attached to them. First one which you used previously and the second one which you created with church record number after your baptism.

    You need to delete your second familySearch account and then add your church record number to your first FamilySearch account.

    @Michael Wiggs,

    The previous answer is accurate as far as it goes. However, we do not recommend deleting a member account as it provides you access to your other Church applications.

    If you, indeed, have two accounts (we actually did not find two accounts for your email address--we only found your member account which has existed since 2015 and to which you added your member number), then the recommended process for resolving the issue would be to sign into each of them and copy the relationships in your "non-member" account into your "member" account with your Church Record Number.

    You may have another account that you have not used for years. However, if you do, then that account does not have a member number and it would have a different email address than the one shown here.

    We recommend that you check your "My Contributions" in your member account as we indicated in the answer to your other question on the same subject--and them resolve any duplicate persons that you find.

    Warmest Regards
