I have found my family tree, but am not included as a child and there's no option to 'add children' to my parent's marriage

    Hi,

Thank you. I was able to add children. I added my first husband, but how do I add my second husband?

    Hello Christine,

When you see your father's name, click on it, and then click on Person, so you are on your father's person page. Scroll down and you should be able to see the children, and there you will see "add child".

Go to your detail page, scroll down to the Family Members section and click on the Add Spouse link above you and your first husband:

Here is more information if needed. You can also designate which relationship is preferred and that will determine how your pedigree chart will look.

The best way to add yourself as a child in your family is to navigate to your own person record in Family Tree by selecting "Person" from the "Family Tree" menu on the main page. Then, on your "Details" tab, scroll down to the Family Members section and click on "+Add Parent."

Then, if you know the PID of one of the parents, you can search "by ID Number." If you don't, then search for one of your parents by entering name and birth date and birth place. That is usually enough to find the right person in the search results. When you find your parent in the "Possible Matches Found" list, then you can click on "Add Match" and then "Add Couple" to add both parents.

If you try to add yourself to your parents' family as a living person using the "Add Child" feature in your parents' children, you will likely see a "Create Person" link instead of finding yourself in the Tree. Chances are that you will just end up creating a duplicate record for yourself. Here is the article in the Help Center with instructions for adding parents:

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-add-a-parent-in-family-tree

If you accidentally have created duplicate records of yourself or other living persons, you can merge them by ID using the instructions in the following help center article:
