I just sent you a question regarding my great grandfather, Joseph John Bauer Sr. Much to my surprise, every single person in my tree now has that banner on it. What is happening? Up until today, I have not had a problem. I am asking that you please help me get this resolved.

Thank you,

Colleen O'Connelly Stanley

Please clear temporary cookies at familysearch.org/cookies. This should resolve the temporary issue.

    Colleen

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

Regarding a "Ready Only" Banner ...

Query: When you state, "... every single person in my tree now has that banner on it"

    Just to be certain ...

Here is an "Image" of an individual/person with a "Read Only" 'Banner' ...

[ ie. That 'Banner' with a 'Pad Lock' Icon; and, the words, "Read Only. This person's record is read-only. No additions or changes can be made." ]

    Pending image.png

    Question:

Are you referring to that particular 'Banner' against ALL the individuals/persons in your Ancestral lines?

    OR ...

    Whereas ...

The aforementioned individual/person not only has a "Read Only" 'Banner; but, ALSO has an additional 'Banner' that many individuals/persons now have in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', which is referencing the NEW "Discovery Pages" for some, if not many, of our Ancestors.

[ ie. That 'Banner' with a 'Exclamation Mark' (in the 'Green', 'Star' Circle) Icon; and, the words, "There is a new discovery version o this person page. Learn about what' different. [ GO TO NEW DISCOVER PAGE ]"

    Pending image.png

    Question:

Are you referring to that particular 'Banner' against ALL the individuals/persons in your Ancestral lines?

    Please advise.

    Now ...

    That Said ...

It is more than likely, like some, that many of your Ancestors have that OTHER "Discovery Page" 'Banner'.

Whereas, it certainly would be concerning, if ALL of your Ancestors had that "Read Only" 'Banner'.

Regarding "Read Only" individuals/persons, here is a "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch':

Whereas, regarding the NEW "Discovery Pages" (and, that corresponding 'Banner'), here are some references:

Temporary glitches including server hiccups and internet outages can cause trouble with a website as complex as FamilySearch. I also had everyone get a Read Only banner a couple of hours ago. Didn't have to do anything and everything was fine after an hour or so. I clear cookies for FamilySearch only about once a year or after the website has a major update and that just on general principles. Clearing cookies is really very rarely needed.
