Question about abbreviated places of birth and/or Departure-Arrival locations
Canada—Border Entry Lists, 1908–1918[ Batch MSYY-2FB]
In this batch, I have people born in Mass. I didn't know if it could be presumed to be Massachusetts or not.
The next was an arrival destination of C B
I found this reference online. C.-B. - French abbreviation for Columbia-Britannique
Do you suppose that would be the abbreviation?

Good work! C B is the alternate abbreviation for British Columbia, or Columbia-Britannique, and Mass is the correct abbreviation for Massachusetts.

I thought CB stood for Cape Breton and apparently so do many others. Oh dear.

It could. It could also stand for Conception Bay. Maybe it should be left as CB unless there is a pattern.
