Did mid 19th century PA German's ever name children after places in the old country?

My gggg-grandparents had a child baptized as Kuny. I've seen images of the original document and it is clearly spelled that way. There is a village Kuny that was in Germany until 1945; now it's in Poland. I do not know my ancestors' home town. Thanks for the response!
My guess is that both the child's and the place's name is a form of Conrad, but I can't find the book that I could look it up in.0
