I would like to do the temple work for some close family relations, but someone else has reserved their name. Is there a way that the name can be released so I can do the work. Thank you.
The Help Centre Knowledge article: "Someone has reserved ordinances for my close relative' states;
Any relative can reserve ordinances for a person born more than 110-years ago from the current date. Otherwise, a close living adult relative must grant permission.
Keep in mind that immediate family can include an undivorced spouse, children, parents, and siblings. In-laws (other than a living spouse's parents), aunts, uncles, or cousins are not considered to be immediate family.
Contact FamilySearch Support if a close relative's ordinances have been reserved outside of these boundaries.

Hope this helps.
Hi Margaret Jean Anderson,
This situation you described sounds rather tender and close to your heart: You would like to have the privilege of doing temple work for close family members, but someone else reserved those ordinances. Below is an article that tells you the steps to follow. Basically, you will contact the person who has the reservation and ask them to give those reservations to you. This article will guide you through those steps.
Ordinance is reserved by someone else • FamilySearch
Please contact Colin Ramsbottom for more case details. He had a private chat with the patron who sent this question.
