Correcting Ordinance

I was looking at my aunt on FamilySearch today and found a problem. My aunt, Kellie Bennett ( MCV6-8PJ ) died when she was a few months old. On FamilySearch, it gives an option to request her sealing to parents. That isn't right because she was born in the covenant. How can I fix this?

Looking at the record for MCV6-8PJ it appears that a merge was completed on 19 March 2021. This may have bearing on the showing of BIC.

Your issue will be sent to another department for further review. Please be patient for an answer. You may be contacted for further information

The following quote is from an article in the Help Center and can be reviewed at the following address while you await your answer.

The ordinance status "Born in the Covenant" indicates that a child was born after the parents were sealed in the temple. You sometimes see this status abbreviated as BIC.

The status of Born in the Covenant comes from the person's Church record. The Membership Department adds the designation.

Born in the Covenant shows if the child is in Family Tree and BIC is on the membership record.

    • If both parents are deceased, the Sealing to Parents date shows along with Born in the Covenant and the parents' names.
    • If one or both parents are living, the Sealing to Parents date shows as Completed along with Born in the Covenant. However, the names of living parents do not show for privacy reasons.
