Can't read the answers to my own questions
I've asked a number of questions here and received answers. Occasionally, I go back to look at the answers again. I call up my questions by searching on my own first name since it's not a common name. I tried to do that today. I was able to call them up, but for all but one of my questions, when I click on it, it says permission problem and something like, "You don't have permission to do that." I am only able to access the answer to my most recent question. What's going on?

I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Short Answer: 'No', it is NOT a matter of ONLY being able to access your most recent 'Question".
IF, your are the poster of the ORIGINAL 'Question'; and, you get that, Lovely, Cheerful, face with " ... Permission Problem ... You don't have permission to do that. ..."; THEN, it means that you 'Question' HAS been taken into the INNER working of 'FamilySearch' "Support" to be actioned.
Basically, such mean that 'FamilySearch' "Support" has taken your 'Question' (ie. matter) out of the "Public" nature (ie. gaze) of this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
Hopefully, you will (most likely) get (individual) "Private" 'Messages', at some later stage, from "FamilySearch' "Support" Personnel on the 'Question(s)' (ie. matters).
I hope this helps. somewhat; and, gives you some insight and perspective.
Brett
ps: The same "Permission Problem" (and, access) also holds true for Other 'lowly' Users/Patrons, that may have 'Answered'/'Commented' in your 'Questions.

Hi Barid. I am also another volunteer and not part of the Support staff. All of the questions that we asked and answered in Indexing Chat (the group that was taken down) are no longer available and show that awful Permission Problem screen. I hope that they are working on this problem so thousands of correct answers given over the years can be seen on a search. Until then, the only questions with answers that can be found on a search are those with Accepted attached to them. These questions were asked an answered in the Q & A section of Indexing (the page we are on now). It is unfortunate that years worth of great questions and answers are unaccessible as well as the many resource links that were so helpful to new indexers. Perhaps there will be a solution.

I am so sorry that they AXED that 'Group' of "Indexing Chat" in the "Groups" Section; and, opened such as a 'Category' in the "Q and A" Section.
In my humble opinion, not such a good move.
And, I am even more so sorry to 'hear' that they have MADE all the 'Questions" in that 'Group' of "Indexing Chat" in the "Groups" Section; as, that, Lovely, Cheerful, face with " ... Permission Problem ... You don't have permission to do that. ...".
I DID NOT realise that.
Did they TRANSTER the 'Questions", from that 'Group' of "Indexing Chat" in the "Groups" Section, to this NEW 'Category' of "Indexing", in the "Q and A" Section?
IF, they DID NOT; THEN, that just compounds the ERROR.
I am so sorry for misleading the poster astray ...
I am just so disheartened with the way the "Moderators" [ie, 'FamilySearch' "Support" (Personnel)] make posts, either, DISAPPEAR (ie. that, Lovely, Cheerful, face with " ... Permission Problem ... You don't have permission to do that. ..."); and/or, CLOSE a 'Question' so that NO Other User/Patron can ADD any addition 'Answer'/'Comment'; especially, after making THEIR, one and only, 'Answer'/'Comment', the "Accepted Answer".
More often than not, the 'Answer'/'Comment' by a "Moderator" [ie, 'FamilySearch' "Support" (Personnel)] is somewhat lacking.
I am sorry to have 'hijacked' this post.

Thanks and you didn't hijack the post @Brett . I am sure your answer is correct too since it does appear that some questions disappear and perhaps get more personal attention. I don't know. But, through trial and error I did figure out that only those questions that were asked and answered in the Q & A section are able to be seen. You can search for Batch Wont Submit (the most frequently asked question) and get 10k hits, but the only ones you can click on and not get that screen are the ones with the word Accepted.

Brett and Melissa, thanks for your answers. I'm still confused although I understand I may never see the answers again. Maybe it's because I wasn't paying attention to where I posted my questions, but I'm not sure what the difference is between the groups section and the Q&A section or to which I even asked my questions.

Hi @Barid King. It has nothing to do with your paying attention to where you posted your questions. So no worries there. What happened was that someone made the decision to dissolve the group Indexing Chat and when that happened in July, all of the questions and answers that were in that group can no longer be seen in their entirety. I can search with your user name in the search bar at the top of this page and can see your questions, and 4 lines of text. But when we click on any of these questions from the now defunct group, Indexing Chat, it takes us to a screen that says "Permission Problem you don't have permission to do that".
So, regarding groups - if you want to ask questions about indexing or reviewing projects, when you are in a batch and click on Community Help it will take you to Indexing Q&A. If you want to ask about any other topic, you can click on Q&A in the left bar <--- and see the 12 groups to ask questions in and what they are set up to handle. If you want to join a Group for discussion purposes, you can do that too. There are many, many interesting discussion Groups.
