Incorrect information in public records

I found an incorrect information about an alias for myself.

can that be corrected. The alias is another person my son who was living with me then.

    If the record you found is part of a collection of Public Records, you need to contact the organization that published them to inquire if they can make a correction.

    FamilySearch does not own the records but provides you with access to them.

    It's best to just ignore the public-record-based collections wholesale. They're created by data-aggregation companies based on things like phone books, and the errors they make in combining or separating people help to maintain one's privacy.
