@scable2001 You do not get an error message when there are unused entries that need to be deleted before submitting a batch. The Save Batch Data Failed error message that this gentleman was seeing is a different problem. Sometimes it is the browser, or cookies, or temporary files, and sometimes it is a glitch in the program.
Sorry for this inconvenience.
We opened the and noticed that nothing was done on it. There are 3 images. Each image only has one entry but the data is set for 5 entries per image. They will have to delete the extra 5 entries on each image.
After you correct the set number of entries per image, and finish indexing it or reviewing, try submitting again.
Here is a knowledge article that might be helpful if you are experiencing the same problem on other batches.
Adding or deleting entries
Adjust the number of entries in the data entry area, if necessary, to index all of the records on the image.
To add entries in the data entry area, do the following:
1. On the indexing toolbar, click the icon for Add Entries:
2. In the Add Multiple Entries pop-up window, type the number of entries you want to add, and indicate where you want to add them.
3. Click Add.
After you have indexed all of the available records on the image, delete any extra or unused entries in the data entry area.
1. On the indexing toolbar, click the icon for Delete Entries: The trash can on Tool bar 7th icon from the left
2. In the Delete Entries pop-up window, indicate whether to delete only the current entry or all blank entries.
3. Click Delete.
Entries require can change from each batch. If you have one entry and one image you are done if it has extra entries you don't need you need to delete them.
If you have 3 images you need to index all three images and have the correct amount of entries per image, again delete the unneeded entries or if you run out and need to record more entries you add entries.
@Melissa S Himes In this case however when the batch was opened it did have blank entries so those needed to be dealt with before submitting. It would be interesting to know if after deleting the blank entries if @davidleelambert was able to submit the batch.
@annewandering - FGGM said that "we" opened the batch and "nothing was done on it". That says to me that the data that was entered did not save - thus the Save Batch Failed Data Failed message. When a batch has extra entries that need to be deleted, the Quality Check shows that you have 100's and sometimes 1000's of fields that need to be addressed. I see that David has also tagged add or delete entries. Ir would be great to hear back if David's problem has worked itself out or there was a cure.
@Melissa S Himes We had an tech issue that the batch would give this type of error message instead of the proper message when there were issues that quality check found that needed correcting. It may be that the FamilySearch cookies on his computer need to be reset at familysearch.org/cookies. We understood that the problem had been corrected but old cookies may still be causing him issues.
In that case:
