Temple Ordinance : Wrong Information
I need to open a case with FamilySearch on misinformation on temple ordinances. I have a sensitive temple ordinances problem that I need assistance in correcting the sealing to parents of William Crowther ( 19 August 1836 – 8 October 1918) KWV3-8V6.
The sealing of 18 Jan 1894 SL was to his biological mother Mary Crossley (1800-1867) LC58-GJW and a "step-father" Nathan Hansen, KH1K-KY5. This was a priesthood adoption sealing. See temple record extraction attached.
The name on the parents of sealing record are Nathan Hansen and Mary Crossley Crowther, The name of the stepfather, Nathan Hansen (as per temple record) was changed to name of biological father, James Crowther. You can see in the change log where the name was changed from Nathan Hansen to James Crowther.
Changing the name on a PID does create a valid temple ordinance.
The bigger question is, I do not know if William Crowther and his siblings were ever properly sealed to their biological parents
This is a complicated problem and requires someone who has experience, please call me.
