Ancestral Quest

I recently purchased Ancestral Quest. I want to know can that be downloaded on the computers at a Family History Center? Will it search for records on various ancestors on Family Search just as long as I have an account on Family Search? Up until now I have never had any problems changing stuff that I had correct, and attaching stuff that should not be attached. At first Family Search was fun but now I am not so sure about it. I am in tears over some unnecessary changes.😢😢😢😢 I don’t know how this emoji appeared here!

    Hey, its 'Brett'

[ I have worked in "Family History Centres" of the Church for many years; and, been the "Director' of a few ... ]

    FYI

I know that my current Local "Family History Centre" (FHC) of the Church, has "Ancestral Quest", downloaded; and, available, for Patrons to use,

There could be (as, I have not specifically research such); but, I am not aware of any specific "Restrictions" for, downloading; and, making available, on FHC Computers, for Patrons use.

"Ancestral Quest", has been downloaded; and, available, for Patrons use, in my Local FHC for a long time; and, in a number of other FHCs where I have worked,

You can always simply talk to the "Stake/District, Temple and Family History, Consultant -- Family History Centre" (previously, "Director") responsible for the FHC. And, request such, if such is not available on the "Computers" in the FHC.

    As an aside ...

Of course, there is another option ...

You can always take along your own "Laptop" Computer, to the FHC, use the FHC's WiFi, rather than just using one of the "Computers" at the FHC ▬ that is what I do. I ONLY use the "Computers" at a FHC to access/view, the "Restricted" Records; and, sometimes, the "Premium" Websites, to which I do not have (subscription) access.

    As usual ...

    Just my thoughts.

Awesome! Right now I am reading a book on Family Search about my Birch/Burtch/Burch book and taking notes as I go.

Tomorrow night when I go all I need to do is ask the Family History Consultant to download it.

    Whoa back ...

Just because I said my Local FHC and some others, have "Ancestral Question", does not mean there is NOT a "Restriction".

And, even if there is no "Restriction", it is the decision of the "Stake/District, Temple and Family History, Consultant -- Family History Centre" (previously, "Director") responsible for the FHC; as, to whether or not they allow such on the "Computers" at that FHC. Some of the very "Busy' FHCs might just not want such.

Just go and ask; but, sadly, be prepared for a polite 'Rejection'.

A personal, "Laptop" Computer; or, even just a "Tablet", with "Ancestral Question", would be the better option.

I hope your Local FHC can accommodate you.

Plus, if it does, do not forget to take a USB (eg. "Memory Stick") along - maybe a couple.

I have a thumb drive. Our Family History Center isn’t busy.
