Permissions for ordinance work
My step mother, Viola Mae Bachman Dolen (6 June 1921 – 1 June 2020 • LYD3-32M), passed away over a year ago. I would like to do her ordinances and have her sealed to my father. She hasn't been married before, no children, no siblings that are alive, and her parents are deceased. Do I need permission when there are no close living relatives as defined in the permissions area of the Temple ordinance area?

Hi Bruce - yes, you still need to go through the request permission process even though there are no close living relatives. Here is the link to the instructions. Pay attention to what is says about no close living relatives and what needs to be shown on family tree. When you get to step 4 of the process, you need to check the box saying I have permission in order to continue. If you have trouble with the link. on Family search, click on the circle with the ? mark at the upper right, click on help center at lower left, enter How do I request ordinances for an ancestor who was born in the last 110 years? Let us know if there is anything else we can help with.

Some more instructions to follow. We are assuming that you have added your step-mother and connected yourself to her as a step-child. To do that please see the following Knowledge Article:
Next we see that her name has her married surname. Please edit it to only be her birth name, if a women changed her surname after marriage, use her maiden name. See Knowledge Article:
Next go to your father's detail page and click on Ordinances. Go through the steps show above in the previous post. By using your father as a starting point, you are fulfilling the requirement as a closest living relative. If the permission is not presented, follow this Knowledge Article:
Thank you for let us help you. May the Lord bless you in your effort to assist your loved ones.

FYI
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]
When you say ... "Church Sister"
You mean a Member of the Church; but, NOT your actual 'Sister' (or, for that matter related) ...
Question: Is that correct?
IF, such is the case; THEN, as you have NO direct "Relationship" to that Member of the Church; THEN, the "System" will NOT allow you to "Request" the "Reservation" for "Temple" Work, where "Permission" is "Required" (ie. LESS than 110 Years, since Birth).
A "Moderator" [ ie. 'FamilySearch' "Support" (Personnel) ], will have to deal with your request.
As well as the normal ones. here are some additional "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch':
