    Hi,

With respect to the ordinances for George Lang, as you know, you have been making numerous changes to these records over the past few days.

The original family search record for George Lang is KFY3-XG7. This is the record that contains his ordinances. For some reason, you changed the name on this record from George Lang to his brother John Lang and then merged this record with other records of John Lang. And you created a brand new record for George Lang (GZTS-M1N). In the process, the ordinances for George Lang were lost in the merge. We know that sometimes it is hard to tell how to best correct the records and what you did may have seemed like the prudent action at the time. As a general rule, changing the name on a record is seldom the correct thing to do and deserves a very hard look before doing so.

Here is our recommendation. You should restore record KFY3-XG7. Following that, you should restore each piece of vital information. For example the name. In vital information, click edit by the name, then click on see all changes at the lower left on the edit name page. From there, restore the origin name on the record. You can repeat this for each piece of vital information. Following that, you can review the record for any other changes needed such as relationships. Then at some point you should merge the new record you created (GZTS-M1N) into record KFY3-XG7. We would suggest you retain record KFY3-XG7. Following that, we would suggest you review the record for John Lang and detach any sources that belong to George Lang. This may have happened during the many merges that were done.

Following all of this, you should have a good record for George Lang and Agnes Todd. Let us know if we can be of further assistance. Here is a link to more detailed instructions on how to restore a record.
