When tagging temple name cards for printing why can you only do the names on one page?

I have accumulated quite a few temple names during the pandemic and my total list runs to several pages. (Hold the applause, please...I know I am not alone in this.) But when I am selecting names for printing if I click names on one page and then go to the next page to get more it erases the tags from the first page. So if I am looking for women's endowments and there are 2 possibilities on the first page and 1 on the next page, which would take 1 page to print, as soon as I go to the second page the selections from page one are unclicked. This means that I am frequently printing only 1 or 2 names on a page which is using up quite a bit of paper as well as being a nuisance.

I called the help line about this and was told I should select for that ordinance and then I would have more on one page. That is true but it is also true that if I select for "endowment" for instance, it brings up every person who needs their endowment done whether the previous ordinances--baptism, initiatory--are done or not. So then I have to click on each name to see if that person is really ready for endowment or not. If I could just accumulate the names from multiple pages like I used to be able to do I could have all ordinances displayed and I could see very quickly which ones were truly ready for a given ordinance.

Thank you.

Oh my gosh FAMILY SEARCH this problem is such a pain....please fix it. It's bad enough that we have to print so many pages of family names over and over again because the temple keeps them but now we have to print one name on a page because you cant go to the second page. This is an easy software fix on your part. (and yes I do work in software). Also all of the names that we were working on before the temple started keeping cards SHOW AS ALREADY PRINTED! So many hours spent dealing with printing cards.

We understand that when you filter the ordinances for endowment only in your temple list that you get all the records that need endowment including those that do not have the pre-requisite ordinances completed. Try using two filters. Choose the Filter on the top that says "Perform Next" and then the bottom filter to choose only the ordinance you want to print. The blue filter under the search box will tell you the number of ordinances that fit that criteria:

We wish you success in using two filters in your temple list.

With the need to reprinting of cards it would be so helpful to be able to do that from the completed list. Or if there is a way to do that I'd love to know. The print option only prints a page with all of their names on it. Then I'm back to the problem mentioned above. A lot of wasted paper because you cannot mark names on different pages

Printing problems for temple names. I agree with previous posts. Driving me nuts! If you have 3 names for printing over 3 pages, you have to print separately for each one. Waste of paper! Why are we losing the checks on page 1 when we go to page 2? I'd rather you go back to just one long list rather than having several pages of names, making everything harder. Please, please fix this problem.

    @Jane Sylvester

    Jane

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

It was disappointing, to say the least, when the "Continuous" List of "Reservations", for "Temple" Work, was REPLACED, by the "Paging" (ie. "Pages").

The reason/inference; being, that the "Continuous" Lists, that for MANY Users/Patrons (who are Members of the Church), was Extremely LARGE (ie. "Thousands"), used far too much "System" Resources; thereby, "Slowing" the "System" down.

Hence, why 'FamilySearch' went, from "Continuous" Lists, to "Paging" (ie. "Pages") Lists.

    Now ...

    That Said ...

    You are not alone ...

    Unfortunately ...

What you desire is not a new request; and, had been requested COUNTLESS times, by COUNTLESS Users/Patrons (who are Members of the Church), that being, to enable the selecting (and, printing), of individuals/persons "Temple" Work across "Pages", in our List of "Reservations" for "Temple" Work.

    As such ...

Due to the "Change", from "Continuous" Lists, to "Paging" (ie. "Pages") Lists ...

I DO NOT think, that 'FamilySearch', will accede to such a request/suggested enhancement, on the grounds that; and, as they have ADDED, "Filters", to the "Reservations" Lists; where, it is/has been implied/suggested, that we SHOULD be able to "Sort" the individuals/persons that we require, by using those "Filters". to get the result they we desire.

    So ...

    That Said ...

According to 'FamilySearch', it is SUPPOSEDLY, a very SIMPLE matter, of getting to know how to use, the "Filters", in the "Reservations" Lists, to achieve the desired result ...

I will just leave that with you; and, say no more ...

We can but live in hope ...

    Just my thoughts.

I know that this certainly does not help/assist; but, I hope that this gives yo some, insight; and, perspective.

    Hi Jane,

Just a thought, in case you have not already figured it out. When printing do one side for the first card, and turn the page over and other end up, to get two cards on a page. It is not the best, but it does save doing 3 pages for three cards. If you print 6 cards this way, it saves half of the pages.

Hopefully this eases a bit of the frustration.

One option that's a bit tedious but can be worth it is to go to the page of each name you're wanting to print, unreserve the name, and then re-reserve it. Then, you can sort the names by reservation date and the ones you want to print will be right on top.

Works well for a few names, not so much for a whole bunch of them.
