Suggestion--Quick Links- My discussions in particular

Why it is the one just go into a question on the "Q and A" section before the Quick Links shows up?

Wouldn't it be helpful to at least the "My Discussions" show up on "My Feeds" main page?

It does show up if you click into the events- and then the whole "Quick Links" section shows up... buried too deep for my preferences.

I would prefer to be able to see "My Discussions" on "My Feeds" page.

    The consistency and usefulness of the layout of Communities in regards to navigation does leave a bit to be desired. While looking forward to future improvement, you can always see the link to My Discussions by clicking on the icon for your account in the upper right hand corner:

    Another hidden feature here is that if you click on your name in this popup window, you can find a link to every comment you have ever made here:

    I would like to see that Comments link right under the My Discussion link in the first image and have it renamed My Comments for consistency.

    @Gordon Collett Thanks for that tip. That is very helpful! I would agree with your "My Comments" as well.

    Thought I'd add my comments at https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/88594/where-to-post-what#latest here, too:

    Just to add to Gordon's comments, it took me a few minutes to realise that to get back to the thread containing the full comments one made (only the first part of the comments is shown in the Profile section) you need to click on the date (or time) link - e.g 10 July, or 11:40am (if you posted the same day).

    Has anyone else explained the solution to this "problem", apart from Gordon? Perhaps even employees and moderators were unaware!

    Gordon

    I added this question to my post above, but it disappeared - probably due to the still-to-be-moderated image "blocking" it!

    It was/is this: Can you explain how (in your case / screenshot above) your 256 Discussions and 754 Comments figures are calculated / broken-down: i.e. how does one differentiate, etc?

    @Paul W

    I really have no idea what those number mean and would have to experiment and guess. Looking at my discussion, the oldest one is from May 2018 and the vast majority of the old ones are just single images that uses to be part of getsatisfaction posts.

    My current comment number is 746 when I look at it. I'm going to post this then see if the number goes up.

    @Gordon Collett

    Thanks for the prompt response. Yes, similar for me - although the newest of my "Discussions" items displayed is 2 July. I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't quite figure-out what constitutes my (47) Discussions - as opposed to my (647) Comments!

    BTW - interesting that my screenshot at https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/88594/where-to-post-what#latest has already been "moderated", but (as I write) is still to appear here.

    Yep, now it is 747. I have already posted on this topic, so comment number must really be the number of comments we have made. I would not be surprised if a significant number got lost in the transition between systems, however, in the same way that posts got corrupted and images isolated with the transitions.

    Since clicking on More Comments only gives eight more, I'm not going to click a hundred times just to see my oldest comment.

    I am going to post a new topic just to see my discussion number go up, I'll do that in another window.

    Yep, now it is 257. And my comment number didn't change.

    So My Discussions are just that, discussions I have started. And comments are what we have posted against other people's topics with the count going up even if we comment on a topic we have commented on before.

    Can't tell you why my comment count dropped from 754 in the screen shot to 747 overnight. Maybe when posts are escalated from here and vanish behind that permission error screen any comments on those posts are subtracted from the total. But that is just a wild guess. To prove that I would have to post something, put a bunch of comments on, then beg a moderator to "escalate" a piece of nonsense just for fun.
